Our founder, Ismael Florentino, has been building software for a living since 2005. He ran his own software companies for years, building custom systems for mid-sized and large businesses, from CRMs and ERPs to process automation and e-commerce. He loved the craft: sitting with a messy, expensive problem until it turned into something people could actually use.

What he stopped loving was who the work served. Too many projects existed to squeeze a margin, with employees and clients somewhere down the list. So he closed that chapter, spent time at an AI research lab at the University of Houston learning what the new tools can and can’t do, and got honest about the only work he wanted to keep: the projects with a mission behind them.

That’s Dreamwell: a small collective that puts the same craft and depth to work for mission-driven organizations, combining technology direction, project leadership, software delivery, and team alignment. We start with one focused problem. Some engagements end with clarity and a roadmap; others grow into delivery or ongoing direction. Either way, we aim to leave your team calmer, more capable, and less dependent on us than we found them.

A note from the founder

Ismael Florentino

Technologist, mediator, yoga therapist

People sometimes raise an eyebrow at the combination of software engineer, conflict mediator, and yoga therapist. Here’s the short version. I trained as a mediator because I kept watching good teams get stuck on conflict long before they got stuck on technology. The yoga therapy is the same lesson from another angle, because you can’t serve people well while burning out the people doing the serving. Different tools, one job: clearing whatever stands between a team and the work they exist to do.

Success, for me, is simple to describe and hard to reach. It means being genuinely useful to teams working for something greater than themselves. If that sounds like your organization, I’d like to meet you.
